As we previously reported, rapper, singer, songwriter, and record executive Lil Wayne turned professional skateboarder for Torey Pudwill's Thank You Skate Co., which made him one of the most controversial hip-hop artists in the history of skateboarding.

A new video from Spanish Mike's YouTube channel showed the behind-the-scenes of how the Young Money CEO turned pro and explained some of the info on how it went down.

"10 years in the making for Lil Wayne turning pro." Spanish Mike said. "I remember the first time Wayne started skating and seeing how determined he was with it and really reminded me when I first started."

"Thank you Phil (Wayne Filmer) for bringing this moment to life. We all appreciate you." He said. "When you pick up a board and fall in love. I am happy to see my bro turn pro and be apart of the process. Once a skater always a skater!!!"

Lil Wayne has won every award and has received notable recognitions, but the fans have never seen him so excited with euphoria for turning pro for a core skateboard company.

The Grammy Award-winning artist is genuinely a skate rat. He never stopped skateboarding even though he was busy working on his music and other business ventures. Congratulations to Lil Wayne for turning pro.
