Top-notched freestyle professional skateboarder Kilian Martin joins Red Bull rider Madras Apse in the new episode of "Skate Tales," where they skated the busy streets of Madrid.
At the age of 10, Martin joined a gymnastics school in Madrid. At the same time, he is passionate about surfing. Hence, the ocean is six hours away, and daily surfing is almost impossible for him.
Freestyle was something with which the 34-year-old could combine his gymnastic abilities, allowing him to get creative and do things that had never-been-done-before.
Growing up surrounded by concrete and asphalt, he realizes that skateboarding techniques can help his skills with surfing. He started skating on mini-ramps and in the streets at 16.
With the backing of his childhood idols from Powell Peralta and Vision, the Madrid native moved to the states, where he currently resides as a professional skater shooting ads for some of the biggest brands in the world.
