UNA Sports Group has officially acquired both the summer and winter clubs for New York, becoming the first organization to enter the league’s multi team structure.

X Games chief executive Jeremy Bloom shared his reaction to the agreement, pointing to how the league is moving into a more structured model that can connect with fans over a longer period.

He described the deal as an important moment for action sports, noting that it brings a new level of organization to how teams are built and followed.

The New York franchise will now be operated by UNA Sports Group, an investment firm focused on global sports properties.

The group is led by Delroy A. Wright as chief executive and managing partner, David Rader as president, and Andrew Thau as founder and partner.

Thau, who previously worked as chief operating officer at United Talent Agency, will also serve as governor of the New York club.

Bloom highlighted that this is the first time X Games has worked with a multi club ownership group.

The deal was completed as an eight figure agreement, and it signals the start of a wider rollout where more cities will be added into the league structure over time.

For the X Games leadership, the aim is to create a system where teams are tied to specific cities and compete across a full season rather than appearing only at individual events.

New York is the first location to officially lock in both summer and winter representation under this model.

The first season of the X Games League begins June 26 in Sacramento. From there, the series moves to Tokyo before concluding at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans from July 24 to 26.

Each stop contributes to a season long scoring system that determines the final winning team.

From Bloom’s perspective, the shift is about changing how audiences follow action sports.

Instead of isolated competitions, fans will now see teams tied to cities, with athletes competing together across multiple events.

He also pointed out that this structure creates more continuity for athletes, turning their involvement into something that lasts beyond a single event.

UNA Sports Group enters the league with a focus on long term growth.

The leadership group has emphasized building value through structured team ownership and creating deeper engagement between athletes, teams, and audiences.

Their role in New York places them at the center of the league’s early development phase.

With the first franchise now secured, X Games is expected to continue expanding its city based model across additional markets.

Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, and Tokyo are already included in future plans as the league builds out its full roster of teams.

Bloom Posted:

"A historic day for action sports - The first multi club ownership group in X Games history just closed in New York.

UNA Sports Group has acquired both the Summer and Winter X Games Club New York teams in a large eight-figure deal.

Leading UNA:

Delroy A. Wright, CEO & Managing Partner
David Rader, President
Andrew Thau, Founder & Partner, and Governor of the New York club

Season one starts June 26 in Sacramento, then Tokyo, then a finale at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans July 24-26.

For fans, this means rivalries, hometown teams, and a season worth following. For athletes, it means careers, not just contests.

Onward! 🚀"
