Pro skateboarder Jason Ellis has been grinding for years and what a cool way to do as a skate dad is to also teach your transgender daughter the basics of shredding a skateboard.
Jo Ellis shared a post about spending time with her father, Jason, during a trip to Tyler, Texas.
The feature shoot ended up turning into a chill skatepark session between father and daughter at Faulkner Skate Park, with Jason taking the time to show her the basics.
Jo described the day as a relaxed father-daughter hangout where they spent time at the park, tried different tricks, and joked around while skating together.
Jason showed her how to approach grinding at the new spot, offering tips while keeping the mood light.
During the sesh, Jason also made a few playful comments, including joking opinions about skating techniques and throwing in humorous remarks about skate culture and comedy.
Jo shared these moments as part of their back-and-forth banter while learning.
She mentioned that the visit to Faulkner Skate Park stood out as a fun part of the trip, especially getting to spend time skating with her dad in a relaxed setting.

"Jason Ellis teaches ME, his trans daughter, how to skateboard.
I went to Tyler, Texas to feature for Jason Ellis.
It turned into a father-daughter skate lesson where Dad showed me how to grind at a new park. With some fun father-daughter banter along the way…
According to Jason:
❌ Tail grinds don’t exist
❌ DEI won’t help my skateboarding
❌ Women are worse at skateboarding
❌ Comedy might be my only optionFaulkner Skate Park was fun! Thanks for the coaching, Dad."
