Duplex Skateboards professional skateboarder Jace De Tomasso just checked off one of the most talked about spots in skateboarding and ended up with the cover of Thrasher for Issue #554.
The cover features Jace on a huge switch ollie over the famous Costco gap, a spot that has been left untouched for nearly two decades.
The photo immediately caught the attention of skaters everywhere, with homies and fellow pros celebrating both the trick and the magazine cover across social media.
The Costco gap already has a legendary place in skateboarding history.
Back in 2008, Ryan Sheckler landed a kickflip down the massive gap, earning the cover of the June issue of The Skateboard Mag.
Photographer Atiba Jefferson captured the cover shot, while Jody Morris photographed the sequence that appeared in Sheckler's interview.
The trick also closed out Sheckler's Superfuture video part, making it one of the most memorable clips of that era.

Since then, the spot had remained untouched. Year after year, nobody stepped up to skate it.
That finally changed in 2026 when Jace pulled up and handled it with a switch ollie, adding a gnarly trick to the history of one of skateboarding's most intimidating gaps.

Landing a trick there is one thing, but having it featured on the cover of Thrasher makes it even more special.
To make the moment even more special, SOTY and TOTY Chris Joslin surprised Jace by showing up with a pizza delivery and the cover sitting on top.
It is the kind of cover that people will remember for years, especially considering how long the spot sat without another successful attempt.
Thrasher shared the cover on Instagram with the caption:
"

MY WAR episode drops tomorrow
"
With a My War episode also on the way, core heads will soon get to see everything that went into making the trick happen.
Those videos usually show the battles behind the footage, so there is plenty of anticipation to see what De Tomasso went through before rolling away from one of the biggest switch ollies ever done at the Costco gap.
Congratulations to Jace on an incredible cover and an unforgettable trick.
