Faith is starting to show up more in skateboarding, while others are going the complete opposite way.

Some are talking about God, some are repping Satanism, and some just want to skate and keep everything else out of it.

So let’s get straight to it.

What kind of skater are you?
Vote

Now here is why people are even talking about this right now.

Lately more skaters have been opening up about their faith in Jesus Christ. Not just random locals either, but known names in the scene. They are praying, speaking on God, and trying to live different from how they used to.

Duane Peters is one of the biggest examples. He has been saying God rules, talking about forgiveness, and focusing on staying sober. If you know his past, you know that is a big shift. People are seeing a different side of him now.

Then you got things happening with brands too. Zero Skateboards, which is Christian owned, has been putting out boards with the holy cross. Brother in Christ Ryan Sheckler is also part of the team, and he has always been open about his faith, so that just adds more attention to it.

Antuwan Dixon is another name people keep bringing up. He recently got baptized and has been taking his sobriety seriously. On top of that, he has been sharing his beliefs and trying to stay on the right path.

You also have brands like Reliance Skateboards building around faith. They are not just selling boards, they are talking about God and trying to reach skaters through that message. Pro skater Dave Jonsson has been part of that too, helping spread it.

But that is only one side.

There are still skaters and brands going heavy the other way. You see 666 graphics, inverted crosses, and devil imagery all over certain boards and media.

Some brands lean into that look hard, and there are even magazines showing that side of skate culture like it is normal.

So now you got a split.

Some skaters are finding religion and trying to clean up their lives. Others are leaning into darker side.

And then there is a whole group that does not care about any of it and just wants to skate without religion or politics mixed in.

That is why this question is coming up more and more.

Is this actually a trend or is it just noise that looks bigger online than it really is?

And more importantly, where do you stand in all of it?

Pick your side and let it be known.
