A vehicle theft suspect in Los Angeles attempted to flee from police officers on a skateboard but was eventually apprehended after a short pursuit.
According to the LAPD, the suspect had stolen a car and was spotted by officers driving erratically on a busy street. When they attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver fled, leading the officers on a high-speed pursuit through the city streets.
However, the suspect soon realized he couldn't outrun the officers and spotted a skateboard in the vehicle. He jumped on the board and started to ride away.
The chase continued for a few blocks until the suspect lost control of the skateboard and fell off. He was quickly apprehended by the officers and taken into custody.
The suspect, whose name was later identified as Pedro Villalobos, now faces charges of vehicle theft and evading police. It is unclear if he had any prior convictions or was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The officers took Villalobos into custody and discovered he had an injury to his right leg.
Villalobos was transported by Rescue Ambulance to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and admitted. No officers or citizens were injured during the incident.
