Pro skateboarder Brandon Turner recently shared a message that hits close to home for anyone struggling with addiction.

He said, “Sometimes sitting down with friends is all you need. A little vulnerability goes a long way in our journey for recovery.”

Turner shared a video with fellow pro skater Brandon Novak, who has also faced addiction but managed to turn his life around through commitment to recovery.

Seeing two pros who have faced similar challenges openly talk about their experiences brings a sense of hope and relatability.

As a professional skater and the founder of Westside Recovery, Turner has spent years helping people work through their struggles with addiction.

He emphasizes that recovery doesn’t happen in isolation. Connecting with friends, sharing experiences, and being honest about what you’re going through can make a real difference.

For Turner and Novak, recovery wasn’t just about stopping harmful behaviors. It involved building a support system, learning to trust others, and allowing themselves to be vulnerable in ways that felt uncomfortable at first.

That willingness to open up has helped not only themselves but also countless others who look to them for guidance.

Turner’s approach is simple but powerful: you don’t have to face your struggles alone. Sometimes a conversation with a friend, a moment of honesty, or just sitting down and sharing your feelings can be a crucial step toward feeling better.

For many people dealing with addiction, knowing that someone else understands and has gone through similar challenges can be incredibly encouraging.

Through his work with Westside Recovery, Turner continues to reach thousands of people, showing that recovery is not just about individual effort. It’s about community, trust, and the courage to be open.

By sharing his own experiences and supporting others like Novak, Turner highlights that the road to recovery is made easier when you allow yourself to lean on others.
