Big news just dropped in the skate world as pro skater Blake Carpenter is officially riding for Vinyl Skateboards, the new brand started by YouTube skater and filmmaker Kevin Perez.
Blake has been off the radar brand wise for a minute after parting ways with Ed Templeton’s Toy Machine a few years back.
Since then, he has kept things low key, still skating hard and dropping clips here and there but without any official board sponsor.
That free agent run is over now, and it looks like he has found the right home.
Perez, who most people know for his clean filming style and deep ties in the skate scene, recently launched Vinyl Skateboards.
It is a fresh brand with a focus on real skating, good filming, and keeping the culture alive. His first ad for Vinyl just hit the latest issue of Thrasher Magazine, and Blake is featured right in it, making this new partnership official.
Blake’s track record speaks for itself.
He is known for taking on heavy spots, staying technical but powerful, and always bringing style to the streets.
Having someone like him ride for Vinyl gives the brand immediate respect among the real skaters who know what is up.
With Kevin’s creative direction and Blake’s skill on the board, Vinyl Skateboards looks like it is setting itself up to make a real mark.
Big congrats to Blake Carpenter and Vinyl Skateboards on the new link up. Looks like this one is about to bring some real heat back to the scene.
