According to reports, the pro skater recently filed documents in Los Angeles asking the court to adjust the current custody arrangement involving his nine year old son, Phoenix Margera, whom he shares with Nicole Boyd.

At the moment, Bam says his time with his son is limited to supervised visits on weekends, lasting about four hours each day, along with regular FaceTime calls during the week.

In his filing, Bam explains that while he appreciates still having contact, the current setup does not allow him to be as present as he would like in day to day parenting. He is asking for a gradual change that would help him rebuild his role in Phoenix’s life in a steady and structured way.

He also states that he has maintained sobriety in recent years and that his supervised visits have gone smoothly without any issues.

According to Bam, the supervision requirement no longer reflects where he is currently at and makes it harder for him to develop a natural relationship with his son.

Part of his request also includes permission to introduce his wife, Dannii Marie, to Phoenix in a way he describes as respectful and appropriate, as he hopes to include her in his family life moving forward.

A video conference mediation between Bam and Nicole Boyd regarding the custody situation is scheduled for May 19, where both sides are expected to discuss the proposed changes.

Boyd was granted temporary custody in 2023 during a period when Bam was dealing with substance related issues.

That same period included a situation in Pennsylvania where he was on the run from authorities, followed later by a psychiatric hold in Los Angeles.

Since then, Bam has said he has worked on maintaining sobriety and has stayed out of trouble. He has also been involved in upcoming Jackass related projects using older footage, though he has mentioned that he is not planning to take part in new stunt work going forward.
