As we previously reported, Muni skate spot had been shut down with no plan for it to come back into use.

For a long time, it looked like that might be the end of it.

But the skateboarding community never really let it go. Skaters kept showing up, talking about it, sharing memories, and keeping the spot in conversation.

For many core heads in Philadelphia, Muni is more than just a place to skate. It is where a lot of local history was built, where generations of skaters spent time learning, filming, and hanging out.

After a long stretch of uncertainty, things have finally changed. Muni is officially open to skate again, and people are already rolling through the space like it never left.

The reopening brought out a strong turnout from the local scene, with skaters, homies, and supporters coming through to see the spot come back to life.

Vans helped host parts of the day, including a cash for tricks session where skaters had the chance to land tricks and get rewarded on the spot.

It turned into a full session with everyone watching and cheering as skaters made use of every part of the setup.

For many in attendance, it felt like reconnecting with a place that had been missed for a long time.

Not just for skating itself, but for everything that comes with it like filming clips, catching up with friends, and spending hours at a single spot without needing anything else.

With Muni back open, skaters in Philly now have another key location to return to, and it is already drawing attention again from both longtime locals and newer faces who are just getting familiar with the area.

Vans Posted:

"The wait is over, Muni is officially open to skate again. Here’s some highlights from the reopening ceremony and cash for tricks session."
