Professional skateboarder Bam Margera is back with another classic skate take, and this time he has his sights set on the mall grab.
If you have been mall grabbing lately or honestly your whole life, Bam has a message for you.
According to him, that’s not the way to do it!
In a recent post, he kept it simple and straight to the point.
"“The mall grab”
You cannot hold your skateboard by the truck and look cool doing it. Here’s proof!
He doubled down with an even clearer statement.
The Mallgrab equals poser."
For anyone new to skate culture, a mall grab is when you carry your board by the trucks instead of holding it by the deck.
It has been joked about for years as something beginners or out of touch skaters do.
Bam falls on the side that says it just does not look right.
Skateboarding has always had its own style rules, even if nobody writes them down.
The way you carry your board, the way you set it down, even how you stand while waiting your turn all say something.
Bam’s post taps into that long running debate about what looks natural and what screams poser.
Of course, some people will laugh it off and keep carrying their boards however they want.
Others might switch up their grip immediately after seeing Bam call it out. Either way, the mall grab conversation is alive again.
So if you catch yourself holding your board by the trucks, you might hear Bam’s voice in your head saying it is not cool. Do with that information what you will.
