As we previously reported, Disorder Skateboards amateur sponsored skateboarder Julian Jeang-Agliardi is now thinking about skating for the United States after hitting some rough patches with the French Federation.
His dad, Yannick, who also coaches him, has been frustrated with how things have gone in France.
Julian, despite being the reigning champion, was left out of training camps.
Yannick explained that these kinds of situations make it harder for Julian to focus and develop, and he wants to make sure his son has the chance to reach his potential.
Even with all that tension, Julian has supporters who see just how special he is.
Plan B Skateboards professional Aurélien Giraud doesn’t play around when he talks about Julian’s skills.
He says Julian is like a Messi or a Cristiano of skateboarding.
Giraud adds that Julian is strong, talented, and keeps improving every year. He notes that if France can keep him on the team, it would be crazy to let that level of skill slip away.
Right now, the family is waiting on official approvals to make the switch to Team USA. Whether he ends up skating for France or the United States, there is no doubt that Julian is one of the young names in skateboarding people will be watching closely.
Living in California, the birthplace of skateboarding, he continues to grow, gain experience, and show everyone why he is considered one of the best young skaters around.
