San Diego got a little extra flavor when Sk8Mafia pro skater Alexis Ramirez stepped onto the field and threw out the first pitch at the Padres game.
Fans who know Alexis from the streets and the videos saw him trade in his board for a baseball and bring some local pride straight to Petco Park.
Alexis has always been a San Diego name. From skating with the crew to stacking clips that put him on the map, he has represented the city in his own way.
So when the Padres brought him out to open the game, it felt like two different corners of San Diego culture linking up for one moment.
After the pitch Alexis got a handshake from the players and walked off smiling, showing that no matter where skating takes him he always brings it back home.
