Skate influencer Jimmy Larsen, who posts online as offgridskater, is facing criticism after sharing footage of himself skating at Henderson Waves in Singapore during a short layover.
The 274 metre pedestrian bridge is one of Singapore’s distinctive structures, featuring a series of curved sections and an arch that sits around 36 metres above Henderson Road.
In the videos, Larsen can be seen skating along parts of the bridge before climbing over a railing and getting onto one of its arches. The footage quickly attracted attention online, with viewers questioning the risks involved in filming stunts from such a height.
Some people were also concerned that skating on parts of the structure could cause damage, particularly if equipment or repeated activity affected the bridge.
Others felt that Larsen should have visited one of Singapore’s designated skate areas for his session, where skating can be done without putting pedestrians or the skater at the same level of risk.
Larsen has built an audience by sharing skate clips from different locations, and the Singapore footage brought a mix of reactions from viewers. Some watched the clips for the unusual setting, while others focused on the safety concerns surrounding the stunt.
The incident has since become a talking point among viewers who questioned whether an unusual location is worth the risks involved when filming skate content.
