Carrying a skateboard around has always been one of those small annoyances skaters just deal with.
You tuck it under your arm, carry it by the trucks, or mess around with straps that never seem quite right.
JKT is trying to change that with a backpack built specifically for carrying your board.
Created by skater Julián, the JKT uses a patented self adjusting system that secures a skateboard to your back in under two seconds.
The board stays visible, your hands remain free, and there are no loose bungees or complicated straps to deal with.
The idea has been six years in the making. Development started in 2020, with Julián producing 3D printed prototypes and refining the design through countless versions.
A prototype was later taken to the Paris Olympics in 2024, where it received attention from skaters and people in the industry.
Since then, JKT says its prototypes have generated more than 10 million views and over 500,000 likes online, with thousands of people asking when they could get one.
That time has arrived.
JKT is launching its first production run through Kickstarter, giving early backers access to launch pricing before the backpack reaches wider retail.
The company plans to use the funding for manufacturing, materials, fulfillment, certifications and international shipping.
Based in Barcelona, JKT will also have to deal with the usual challenges that come with shipping a new product to customers across different countries.
For anyone who has ever had to carry a board several blocks before finally getting to skate, the concept is pretty simple.
You strap it on, click it in and keep your hands free.
