Former Boonies Skateboards professional skateboarder Taylor Silverman shared her reaction after the United States Supreme Court allowed state laws that ban transgender athletes from competing in girls' and women's sports to remain in effect while legal challenges continue.
As we previously reported, the Court allowed these state restrictions to stay in place, a decision that has received strong reactions from people on both sides of the issue

The topic has also reached the skateboarding community. As more LGBTQIA+ skaters have become part of skateboarding, some transgender women have entered women's contests, leading to ongoing discussions about fairness, inclusion, and eligibility.
Silverman has been one of the most outspoken voices in that discussion.
The MAGA pro skater gained national attention after speaking about losing a women's skateboarding contest to a transgender competitor.

Since then, she has continued to speak publicly about protecting women's divisions and has supported rules that separate competition based on biological sex.
After the Supreme Court's recent ruling, Silverman celebrated the decision with a post on social media.
She wrote:
"Men should have never been allowed to abuse females like this in the first place. These deranged frauds are going down as the biggest losers of possibly all history. Save women's spots."
The issue continues to divide opinion across the United States.
Supporters of these laws argue they are needed to protect fair competition for girls and women.
Critics argue the restrictions discriminate against transgender athletes and limit their opportunities to participate.
Legal challenges over these state laws are still ongoing, so the debate surrounding transgender participation in girls' and women's athletics is expected to continue.
