According to reports, a judge recently ordered a security guard and his attorney to pay Wayne $29,225, along with additional legal fees, after a lawsuit accusing the rapper of assault was dismissed by the court.
The case dates back to a complaint filed in late 2023 by security guard Christian Carlos. He alleged that Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., threatened him with a firearm and struck him during an incident at the rapper's Hidden Hills home in California.
Carlos claimed the encounter left him dealing with emotional distress and PTSD, while also causing medical expenses and financial losses. The lawsuit sought damages connected to those claims.
However, the case never made it to trial.
According to court records, the judge found that Carlos repeatedly failed to comply with multiple discovery orders over the course of nearly ten months.
The court also stated that misleading information had been provided regarding compliance with those orders. As a result, the lawsuit was terminated before it could reach the courtroom for a full trial.
The ruling not only ended the case but also required Carlos and his lawyer to cover monetary sanctions and legal costs tied to the matter.
