The Gaza skateboarding community is coming together to share their condolences with Rajab Al Reefi, the founder of the Gaza Skate Team, after he announced the passing of his father.

Rajab shared the sad message on social media, writing, "My beloved, the crown of my head and the light of my days, my one and only father... has passed away."

For many who know him, Rajab’s father was more than just a parent; he was a constant source of support, guidance, and love.

His influence can be felt in the life of his son and in the broader community Rajab has helped nurture.

Friends and followers have expressed their sympathies, leaving messages of comfort and memories of how deeply his father impacted their lives.

The loss comes at a difficult time for Rajab, who has dedicated so much of his life to creating opportunities for young skaters in Gaza.

As the team continues its work to provide a creative outlet for young skaters, the memory of Rajab’s father will remain an important part of the community.

Rajab Al Reefi Posted:

"My father was everything in my life. He always supported me and encouraged me to continue with skateboarding, to become someone significant, to always be with children, and to support them. Despite the difficult circumstances we lived through and the dangerous situation, he always told me: “Don’t let anything stop you from your work and supporting children and people. Go, always be with people, and continue supporting them. God will be with you and protect you. Don’t worry, my son.”

My father suffered greatly from kidney failure, and the poor health conditions here caused his condition to deteriorate. The lack of medicine he needed led to his death. I was always searching for medicine and trying to provide him with food, even though we lived through famine and most things were unavailable here. I pleaded with everyone to help me get him out of Gaza so he could receive proper treatment before I lost him, but no one responded to my appeals.

Despite all these circumstances, I created a donation link specifically for my father and his care. I thank every person who donated, and I inform you that the link is now dedicated to my family and my young siblings. Thank you very much."
