Pharmacy Boardshop put ten grand on the table for anyone who could Tre Flip or Backside Flip El Toro.
That number lit up the skate world and everybody started talking but most of the messages coming in were just talk. Then Adrien Bulard’s crew pulled up and he said he wanted to take the 360 flip down the set.
The night before the attempt the spot got checked to make sure it was skateable.
The next morning cameras were out early and Adrien was locked in. For the first hour he paced around the stairs trying to get his head right.
Instead it turned into a long session of slams and close calls.
He gave it everything but El Toro hit back harder. After what felt like endless tries Adrien bruised his heels and had to stop. The bounty stayed untouched but everyone who was there knew how close it really was.
Not long after Chris Joslin came through and did what people said could not be done.
He rolled away and wrote his name into skate history. That was the payoff everyone wanted to see and Pharmacy’s challenge helped put the fire on it.
Then came the twist nobody asked for.
According to the Pharmacy, El Toro High School decided to take them to court claiming ten grand in damages from the session. The number lined up with the bounty almost too perfectly.
They claimed that they lost the case and had to hand over the money.
