The skateboard that helped make history is about to find a new home.

Skate legend Tony Hawk, the man who changed how the world looks at skating, is putting the board he used for his famous "900" up for auction.

That trick involved two and a half full spins in the air. Birdman first landed it at the 1999 X Games. It was the first of its kind and immediately cemented his place in skateboarding history.

If you’ve seen the footage, you know how intense it was. Attempt after attempt, until finally, Tony stuck it.

Afterward, he threw his arms in the air and said out loud, “This is the best day of my life.”

Now, more than 25 years later, that exact skateboard, along with the gear he wore during that moment, is being offered through Julien’s Auctions.

The sale includes the board, his helmet, the knee pads, and even the size 13 shoes he had on when he landed the trick. You can also bid on his bronze medal from that same 1999 X Games.

The auction officially opens today at juliensauctions.com and runs until September 23. A portion of the auction proceeds will go to The Skatepark Project, the nonprofit Tony started to help bring skateparks to communities that need them most.

It’s about giving kids a space to feel welcome, to be creative, and to skate without having to look over their shoulder.
