Skateboarder and rap artist Lil Uzi Vert has been skating hard in the streets, and fans got to see a different side of him doing tricks.

Uzi opened up a bit, showing off some skating clips and dropping a short but thoughtful message about what skating means to him.

“Skateboarding helps me free my mind and I really appreciate🛹ing for coming 2 me when it did,” he wrote. “I ain’t forget bout yall either. I realized YOU are more important than Oxygen.”

Skating and hip-hop have long had overlapping worlds, and Uzi’s no stranger to either. What stands out here is how skating seems to ground him.

He didn’t over-explain or get too heavy - just a few lines, but enough to say a lot. Uzi was just letting people know that skating gave him space to breathe, and that he hasn’t lost sight of what matters, even if it’s not always obvious from the outside.
