The former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway won the promotion's ceremonial "BMF" belt. He defeated Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 by knockout, seconds away from a unanimous decision win.
Holloway goaded Gaethje to go full throttle to the buzzer, resulting in the wildest knockout in the UFC's 31-year history.
Gaethje was left unconscious, face down on the mat, as Holloway walked away with a primal scream.

During the post-fight interview, Holloway called for a title fight against current featherweight king Ilia Topuria and lightweight champ Islam Makhachev. He urged the UFC to sign the contract and make the fight happen, regardless of the weight class.
Holloway also received a $600,000 bonus for his efforts, bringing his career bonus money to $1.15 million, the highest total bonus money of any fighter in the promotion's history.
Holloway had a steady advantage throughout the first round, outstriking Gaethje in every round while operating at a different speed. The former champ landed a spinning backheel directly to Gaethje's nose, sending him reeling as the bell sounded.
In the second round, Holloway accidentally poked Gaethje hard in the left eye and got him again minutes later with a thumb to the right eye. Gaethje insisted on proceeding during both timeouts.
The hits kept coming from Holloway in the third and most of the fourth round until Gaethje dropped him out of nowhere.
However, Holloway survived and won the decision in his pocket throughout the fifth round. Then he decided to throw caution to the wind, stepping into a phone booth with one of the most dangerous knockout artists in the promotion. The result was pure, uncut MMA greatness, to the crowd's delight and the detriment of Gaethje's consciousness.
