Skateboarding icon John Rattray has opened up about his experiences with mental health challenges and their intersections with his remarkable journey in the skateboarding scene.

The Scottish-born pro skateboarder has now taken a brave step to discuss the equally essential battles he faced off the board.

The 45-year-old revealed that his journey has been far from a smooth ride. Beyond the flashy tricks and victories, he battled internal struggles that often went unnoticed by the public eye.

The pressures of core skateboarding, coupled with personal expectations, profoundly impacted his mental well-being.

Rattray aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental health discussions, particularly within the skateboarding culture.

He believes that sharing his struggles can resonate with aspiring skateboarders, showing that even the most successful individuals face challenges beyond the physical realm.
