After 17 years of riding for Darkstar Skateboards, professional skateboarder Ryan Decenzo has announced that he will be parting ways with the brand.
As we previously reported, Dwindle Distribution had many changes, including firing Bill Weiss, letting go of Louie Barletta's beloved Enjoi, and paying Jemkem 450+ blank boards as a settlement for owed money.
Even pro skater Jerry Hsu said that when he was on Enjoi, it always seemed like they were fighting the people who owned them.
The news surprised many fans and followers of the skateboarding industry, as Decenzo has been a loyal member of the Darkstar team since he was just a teenager.
During his time with the brand, Decenzo has become one of the world's most respected and talented contest skateboarders, earning numerous awards and accolades for his impressive skills on the board.
In a statement on his Instagram Stories, Decenzo expressed his gratitude for his time with Darkstar and thanked the brand for its support over the years. He also said excitement for the future, hinting that he may want to join a new team or start his brand.
While the announcement of Decenzo's departure may shock some fans, it's not uncommon for professional skateboarders to switch teams or start their own brands.
Skateboarding is a fiercely competitive industry, and riders often must make difficult decisions to advance their careers and achieve their goals.
