Vans off the wall proudly celebrate their 30 years of the Half Cab, with the "CUT DOWN: 30 Years Of The Vans Half Cab," a three-part video series directed by skate producer Patrick O’Dell.

Episode 1 takes us back to 1989 when Vans and skateboarding legend Steve Caballero introduced the first Vans signature skateboarding shoe called "the Caballero."

In true DIY spirit, skateboarders saw a chance to reimagine the silhouette by cutting down the high-top padding to meet their needs, pushing the boundaries of progression and creative expression. The Half Cab was born.

This year, Vans celebrates the skateboarding creative spirit and three decades of an icon-influenced culture both within skateboarding and beyond, with Half Cab product drops and many exciting collaborations throughout the year.

Skateboarders around the globe honored Caballero for all his contribution to the skate scene, which Vans stayed true to continue supporting the legend throughout the years.

Watch the video below, and stay tuned for more episodes coming soon. Enjoy!
