Skateboarding legend THPS video game icon Tony Hawk started as a core skate rat back in the early 80s, skating around and having fun, and he knew he was on the right track.
CBS San Diego Reporter Linda Mour met with the Carlsbad skateboarding phenom when he was 18 years old at his home. Hawk showed off his signature moves and talked about how strange it was to be recognized on the streets.
He was in movies and commercials and had his clothing line. "Once all the fame and fortune has passed, he'll go to college," Mour said.
In 2022 fame and fortune haven't passed and likely never will as the legendary pro skater is already a household name in the skateboarding industry - 36 years later and a global icon, Hawk prevailed and didn't stop dominating.
