Before its popularity, Activision unveiled their groundbreaking skateboarding video game Tony Hawk's pro skater on PlayStation back on September 29, 1999. It opens its doors to underground skating to worldwide popular culture.
"In the late '80s and early '90s, no one cared about skateboarders. There was no internet. There's no other way to communicate so everyone just made their own videos and that's how skateboarding communicated with itself." Jackass co-creator Spike Jones said.
Professional skateboarder Bam Margera on the other hand has already been creating his skate videos and hilarious stunts for his local skate crew CKY in Westchester Pennsylvania.
The CKY videos became an overnight phenomenon that quickly garnered the attention of MTV. The popular music television back in the day wanted to create a TV series and was ready to cash in.
The spiraling time of intense difficulty started when some of the members of Jackass were having issues with substance abuse.
But the most devastating news was when Ryan Dunn got in a car accident and veered off the road and struck a tree, after which the Porsche burst into flames in West Goshen Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Both Dunn and Zachary Hartwell, a production assistant on Jackass Number Two were killed in the crash. Unfortunately, hours before the crash Dunn posted a photo on his Twitter account that he and Hartwell were drinking at the said bar.
