As we previously reported, skate legend Ed Templeton and his brand Toy Machine have dropped a Ku Klux Klan themed deck, but it came with plenty of backlash from religious skaters, others calling it TDS, and some saying it was virtue signaling.
What started as a limited run quickly sold out. Templeton responded directly at the time, making it clear that the project was not designed to attract the wrong crowd. He even went as far as to say that he does not want racists buying from Toy Machine.
Now the brand is keeping the collection alive.
This week Toy Machine told fans that the “Charred” deck is being offered to skate shops for pre-orders. Rather than putting it straight online, the company encouraged skaters to call their local shop and lock one in. Along with the deck, the collection will include shirts and stickers, giving more options for anyone who missed out the first time.
Even with the criticism, the demand is still strong. The first drop disappeared quickly, and the restock shows there are plenty of people who want to own a piece of the collection.
At the same time, the controversy is still hanging around, and this drop is only going to get more people talking about what Toy Machine really means with these graphics.
For skaters who back Toy Machine’s approach, this is another chance to grab the Charred deck or show support with new merch. People who were mad about it before are probably still going to be mad now. Either way, Toy Machine isn’t dropping the idea, and the KKK collection is rolling on.

"To all those asking when the restock will happen — As of today, the “Charred” deck is being offered to skate shops for pre-orders. So call your local skateshop and have them order one for you today! (There will be T-shirts and stickers too!)"
