Professional skateboarder and Thank You Skateboards co-founder Torey Pudwill had to make sure that the new generation of skateboarders knew who the OG is by showcashing his skate clips on Instagram with a style, filmed by Spanish Mike.
The 33-year-old has a message for the young skateboarders of today. He's concerned that they may not be taking the time to truly understand the origins of the styles they are inspired by. He believes that this understanding is crucial for their growth and development as skateboarders in the community.
Pudwill suggests that they should look back to the roots and recognize the true masters of style, like Switch God Paul Rodriguez, who also conveyed that Gen Zs lack style because they are teaching themselves like robots.
He implies a desire for a deeper appreciation and knowledge of the history and origins of various styles, which inspired him.
Pudwill posted, "It’s a compliment when these kids get inspired by what you did and what you continue to do, but it’s an insult when they get all gassed up n forget where they got these styles from in the first place. You know?"
However, when a skater named @hamjqs on Instagram asked what does T-Puds mean?
He said, "It means that young people do not do their studies anymore, gotta look way back into to the roots and know who the true masters on style are - that’s what inspires me."
The OG skateheads agree with the pro skateboarder, but the Gen Z skaters think that he is a boomer, bashing him that his time has passed and that he needs to take a back seat to let the young bucks to take over skateboarding.
