Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk has always been the face of skateboarding, but now he's stepping into a new gig - being a grandpa.
In September 2024, his son Riley Hawk and Frances Bean Cobain (yep, Kurt Cobain’s daughter) welcomed a baby boy named Ronin Walker.
The Birdman isn’t just all about the classic grandpa jokes; he’s already thinking about how to bring little Ronin into the skateboarding scene.
During a chat with People while promoting Qunol for Heart Health Month, Tony shared his excitement about being a grandpa. "I might have brought him on a skateboard while sitting down," he joked, talking about a fun moment with his grandson. But there’s one rule he's keeping for now, thanks to his wife, Catherine Goodman: "You can't stand up on the board," he laughed, admitting that he wants Riley to be the one to introduce Ronin to the wild side of skateboarding first.
As for his grandpa vibes? He’s definitely not the sit-on-the-sidelines type. "I'm a fun grandpa," he says. "I'm extra protective and will absolutely spoil him." Whether he's teaching Ronin some skate tricks or just hanging out, Tony is all in for being the best grandpa he can be.
