Skate legend Tony Hawk left a skateboard near Eight Mile and Southfield in Detroit and told fans to go find it.
Matt (@mp_mattj) saw Hawk’s Instagram post while sitting in his truck. The video was less than five minutes old, and Matt recognized the location. It was only about 10 minutes away.
“I wonder if it’s there still,” Matt recalled thinking. “Sure enough, it was there when I pulled up.”
Hawk later confirmed Matt got the board and tagged him on Instagram.
Hawk was in Detroit as an announced guest for The Coney, a fundraiser at the Detroit Opera House supporting arts education for local kids.
