Pro vert skater Tom Schaar has been skating at a level most folks can barely wrap their heads around, and his new part, “Vert’s Not Dead,” is a full-on reminder that vert skating is alive, well, and still capable of blowing minds.
You can tell this part isn’t just about showing off what he can do. It’s more like he’s having a conversation with vert itself. Like, “Alright, here’s what I’ve got. What do you think?” And vert, for once, has no choice but to nod and stay quiet.
People have been saying vert’s in the background these days, but Schaar’s part kind of flips that idea.
He’s not trying to revive anything. He’s just doing what he does best, and it just happens to light vert back up.
