YouTube skater Mike Boisvert, aka The Skate Nomad, just hit five years of traveling the world solo, and he has been damn near everywhere foreal!
During that time, he has visited more than 100 countries across five continents, skating and filming along the way.
Boisvert has spent months in places like India, Africa, Barcelona and London, while traveling across South America from Brazil to Colombia.
A simple trip to Guatemala turned into five years of life on the road and he never used his return ticket.
Since then, Boisvert has gotten sober, built a personal brand and turned daily skateboarding content into his livelihood.
Boisvert is just built different as he is still out there skating, traveling and doing his thing.
More than 100 countries deep, The Skate Nomad is still doing the damn thing. Hell yeah!

"What the hell… today is the day.
I officially been traveling non stop alone around the world for 5 years.
In those 5 years, I visited more than 100 different countries.Americas: 21 countries
Asia: 26 countries
Africa: 19 countries
Europe: 35 countries
Oceania: 1 countryIt’s hard to put numbers on 5 years of insane experiences. I could write a book about everything that happened, and even then I don’t think I could describe it all
I have been traveling quite fast, sometimes slow. Sleeping in crazy places and, skating in places I never thought I would skate.
I always chase feeling discomfort and challenged, traveling should be about pushing yourself ( like skating )
My biggest highlights of the trip were definitely traveling in India for 3 months, Africa for 8 months, crossing all South America from Brasil to Colombia, spending months in Barcelona and London and visiting a few countries I didn’t even know existed before going there.
I started this trip with only a return ticket to Guatemala. ( i never took the way back ticket ) and I had no idea that trip would literally change my life.
On this trip I became sober. ( almost 5 years… yeee ) I became extremely happy and also extremely depressed. I found a purpose. My new purpose was to document skateboarding everyday ( literally ) I built a personal brand on the internet and worked my ass off to survive while traveling around the world.
I thought it was impossible but i made it to 5 years on the road.the biggest thing I learned.
Life for everyone is a bunch of ups and downs. You will have amazing moments, terrible moments, moments where you question everything and moments where you feel like the luckiest person alive.
I’ve had all of them.
But I’m super grateful to be able to experience all this.
Life is such a blessing.
And if you’re reading this
and you’ve been thinking about starting your own nomad journey, or doing something you’ve been scared to do…Don’t wait too much, because tomorrow might never come.
And also, don’t wait for nobody.
Do it alone.
I promise, it will be fine. 🛹🌍"
