Tanabata Skateboards professional skateboarder Sky Brown is the latest skateboarder to be featured by Cosmopolitan, where the two time Olympic bronze medalist discussed balancing life as a professional athlete while staying focused on making a positive impact beyond competition.
At just 18 years old, Brown has already built one of the most impressive résumés in action sports.
She continues to compete at the highest level in both skateboarding and surfing, recently adding strong performances across international contests while preparing for another busy stretch of events.
Despite her growing list of accomplishments, Brown explained that medals and trophies have never been the foundation of her identity.
"Winning a medal is amazing, but it's not who I am. I know I'm so much more than that," Brown told Cosmopolitan. "I've always shared videos on social media to tell a story and hopefully inspire people, especially girls."
Throughout the interview, Brown emphasized that inspiring the next generation has remained one of her biggest motivations since she first gained international attention.
Having spent much of her childhood in the spotlight, she has used her platform to encourage young girls to pursue skateboarding, surfing, and whatever passions they choose with confidence.
The feature also highlights how Brown manages an increasingly demanding schedule as one of the few athletes competing professionally in both skateboarding and surfing.
