Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk has partnered with the user-generated crypto and blockchain game provider The Sandbox to create the world's biggest skatepark in the metaverse.
"Put on your helmet and grab your board. Tony Hawk is joining the ride!" The Sandbox said. "We are partnering with Tony Hawk Inc. and Autograph to create a Tony Hawk land in The Sandbox, marking the first entry of Tony Hawk into the metaverse."
The 54-year-old pro skater, one of the world's most popular skateboarders, is planning to build a skateboard park in the metaverse.
The initiative, which will complete in partnership with The Sandbox and Autograph, will also create voxel representations of the skateboarder as NFTs that can be used in The Sandbox metaverse world.
According to The Sandbox, they will make NFTs interoperable in its open metaverse to turn Autograph's high-fidelity avatars into 3D voxel versions that will have in-game functionality for experiences, adding utility and value for their owners.
