Skateboarding icon Sandro Dias just went off in Porto Alegre and stamped his name in the record books.
The Red Bull pro skateboarder dropped in from 70 meters on the Centro Administrativo Fernando Ferrari building and rolled away clean.
That number right there makes it the highest drop in ever landed on a skateboard. Guinness World Records was there to lock it in so there’s no question about it.
Now some people online started hating quick.
They thought Dias went from the very top of the 88 meter building but the set up was different. The ramp was built into the side so the drop came out to 70 meters.
Haters are trying to downplay it but no one else in skateboarding history has ever even touched that kind of height. It’s a record no matter how you cut it.
Dias wasn’t stressing the noise. He and the real ones knew what just went down.
The believers were showing nothing but respect calling it one of the gnarliest things ever done on a board.
At the end of the day Dias is still out here breaking records while most of the critics can’t even step to a vert ramp.
Another notch in his legendary career and a reminder that when Sandro drops in he does it bigger than anybody.
