Skateboarding icon Salman Agah recently caused banter in the skating community by claiming he thought he had discovered the world's first skateboard.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Agah shared a photo of what appears to be a large wooden seat with four wheels, getting skaters' speculations if that's really the first ever board.

Agah posted, I think I just found the world’s 1st skateboard. Is this the world’s 1st skateboard?

However, the Skateboarding Hall Of Fame Instagram account quickly refuted the claim, stating that the artifact is not the world's first skateboard.

It's evident that the wooden structure appears more like a decorative piece than a functional skateboard.

The size and shape suggest that it was likely crafted as a piece of art rather than a practical means of riding. The wheels, although present, seem more ornamental than suitable for riding.
