Anti-MAGA skateboarding journalist Robert Brink is speaking out about something that has been building for a while, and he didn't mince his words.

In a recent post, Brink shared that he has lost a lot of friends since President Donald Trump took office in 2016.

According to him, that distance did not come with regret.

He says it actually helped him feel more certain about who he wants around him, especially when it comes to people he believes are supporting harmful ideas.

Brink said that he thinks people should hold their friends accountable, even when it is uncomfortable. He pointed out that he has seen some people change over the past couple of years, which he says has been good to witness.

At the same time, he admitted he still cannot understand why certain individuals he respects would associate themselves with creators he strongly criticizes.

He specifically mentioned Jerry Hsu, someone he described as both a great person and someone he has admired for years.

Brink said it genuinely bothers him to see people like Jerry connected to figures he accuses of promoting racism, sexism, and other forms of hate.

He extended that frustration to others he named, including Ryan, Arin, Akwasi, and Corey, saying it is difficult for him to make sense of their alignment with someone he sees as harmful.

Another name that came up was Gifted Hater, a YouTube skater Brink directly criticized. Brink claims the behavior he is calling out is not something buried in the past, but something happening right now.

He referenced recent screenshots and online interactions as examples, saying what people are seeing publicly is only a small part of a larger issue.

Brink also addressed critics ahead of time, saying people can call him whatever they want or bring up his past, but that does not change what he believes is happening.

He argued that audiences matter, and that you can judge a creator by the kind of following they build and encourage.

He compared the situation to other controversial online figures like Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate, suggesting that influence comes with responsibility.

He went on to say that he has personally experienced harassment after being featured in a video by the same YouTuber he is criticizing.

According to Brink, the reaction from that audience included online attacks and coordinated negativity, which he believes is directly tied to the kind of content being put out.

Brink urged people to take a closer look at comment sections, Discord servers, and livestream chats tied to these communities.

In his view, these spaces reflect the real impact of the content and the type of behavior it encourages.

He ended his message with a warning about how online platforms reward more extreme content over time.

Brink believes that without awareness and accountability, things will continue to escalate in a direction he finds concerning.
