Life sometimes throws unexpected challenges our way, and this week, Professor Paul Schmitt experienced just that.

Despite a curveball that left him with a cut hand and a severed tendon, the PSstix entrepreneur remained positive throughout the ordeal.

In a social media post, he shared what happened from the emergency room to surgery, highlighting the support he received from his loved ones and the medical professionals who played a crucial role in his recovery.

Professor Schmitt posted, As This week life threw me a curve ball and I’m ready to rest this weekend.

The back of my right hand got cut and I severed a tendon, and therefore my middle finger would no longer stand up.
On Tuesday I instantly went to the emergency room @HoagHealth with @ColeSchmitt90 by my side.
They stitched me up in a temporary manner and made a me a custom brace.
The next morning, I visited @NewportOrthopedicInstitute and saw #DrIP who scheduled me for surgery the next day at #HoagOrthopedicInstituteSurgeryCenter
The staff at #NewportOrthopedicInstitute has put me together many times over the past 30 years.
Sometimes I feel like my life is almost like a #HumptyDumpty Story

After signing away my life, they knocked me out.
Surgery was an hour as planned, and @StuporModel was waiting for me as they rolled me out in a #Wheelchair
She offered to take me to get anything I wanted to eat and that started with a visit to @BearFlagFishCo for #Ceviche and then some pizza from @AlsNewYorkCafe

As you can see from the 1st picture I’m totally dazed and confused as the anesthesia wears off.
Luckily, they gave me a functional foam block. It looks like a piece of cheese to put my arm in to keep my hand straight up in the air to reduce swelling.
That foam cheese like piece it’s very comfortable and works really well and I was even able to go to sleep with it.

Dr. Ip told me I would have to hold off on my #DIY activities for 6 to 12 weeks as my hand heals but if I follow through with therapy, I should get back to 100% functionality.
Is it modern medicine amazing!

Next time I remove one of these electrical connectors and it requires a pair of plyers I will just cut the wire as when this one came off my hand slapped into some sheet metal that sliced me clean.
