After a long time of hiding in the shadows, professional skateboarder Steve Olson a.k.a Crazy Monk has finally revealed his album "Concrete Jungle Mystic" on social media.
The former Shorty's skateboards pro made an official Instagram account to help fellow pro skater Chad Muska to promote their board last year. This time, he is now ready to introduce and showcase his craft to the mass.
"My music is on the bandcamp music website with many other underdog artists & it has been on there for free for a long time." Olson said. "In different ways I have been in hiding since 2005. I made this page originally, not too long ago, to help Muska promote our Skateboard we released recently. Definitely rad to connect with Sk8 heads on here!"
He continued. "For people out there who support my multidimensional missions; for the next 7 days ONLY, you can purchase my Hip Hop albums on bandcamp for a 10$ digital DL. After 7 days from today the music will be free again. I have almost 8,000 followers on here so our goal is to get at least 1,000 downloads in 7 days."
"It’s not about the money." He added. "I am a skater & a Hip Hop Artist & a Spiritual Seeker. My music is very Spiritual & if you listen to a whole album of mine in a relaxed & focused state, it may trigger a Spiritual Experience."
"OG heads know Skateboarding & Hip Hop are intertwined & some would even say Skateboarding is the secret 5th Element of Hip Hop! My Hip Hop & Spiritual Name is Crazy Monk. I gave my Self the name Crazy Monk around 1999 & I see it as a Spiritual name, my other name being Steve Olson of course!" Olson explained.
"In my opinion ALL Skaters should give themselves a new name as a cosmic rebirth; because Skateboarding IS a Spiritual Path like Shaolin Temple Kung Fu. So think about the new name you give your Self, choose wisely & it will empower you tremendously." He said. "I have a lot of projects coming; a new Skateboard, a book; and other things. This is your opportunity the next 7 days to add fuel to my fire & show support!!"
Olson mentioned. "The website is on this post’s photo or just google “crazy monk concrete jungle mystic bandcamp.” Then buy this rare Street Music via PayPal on bandcamp as a digital download, I really appreciate all the Love!"
"We live in strange times & you know who you are if you are part of the resistance! Keep Shining, Keep surviving & stay strong out there my Soldiers! RAKUNDALINI album art by Jeremy Gregory with the help of the secret art squad!"
The tracks deliver on the musical front on top of the historical one; it bops through and through with an incredible beat that will inspire you to hit the streets and skate.
