OG professional skateboarder Peter Smolik is trying his hand at podcasting, and he could soon have his own show produced by iHeartRadio.
Smolik recently posted about entering the Top Host contest, asking his followers to get behind him with votes.
At the moment, Smolik sits in first place within his group. The contest is looking for hosts who can bring personality and entertainment to their own podcast series.
The prize is pretty serious.
The winner gets a six episode podcast produced by iHeartRadio, $25,000, and a guest appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
The winning host will also get the chance to sit down with Seacrest on his morning show and showcase what they can bring to the microphone.
The podcast would premiere through the iHeartRadio app and other major podcast platforms, giving the winner a much bigger audience than a typical independent show.
This idea seems to fit Smolik's personality.
He has spent years in the skateboarding world and has never exactly been shy about entertaining people.
Voting for the Top 20 ends Thursday, October 15 at 7 PM PDT. With nine days left at the time of his post, Smolik has some time to rally more votes and hold onto his current position.
Now it comes down to whether core heads can help keep the OG pro skater at the top and get him behind a microphone for a six episode iHeartRadio series.
