Pro skateboarder Paul Rodriguez is getting ready for a big legal battle, but it’s not about skateboarding or his brand with Primitive Skateboards.
His dad, Paul Rodriguez Sr., is in a bit of a jam after getting busted by the Burbank police for alleged drug possession and P-Rod’s dad is determined to sue the officers involved.
According to reports, the incident unfolded on a Friday night when P-Rod’s dad, along with a female friend, was pulled over by Burbank Police.
The police found an allegedly fentanyl and several glass pipes in the car.
The situation has quickly turned into a public battle, with conflicting statements coming from both the police and Rodriguez Sr.'s camp.
The pro skater's father has denied all allegations, calling the claims “false” and describing the treatment he received as unjust and humiliating.
While the details remain murky, what’s clear is that the arrest had a serious dispute. Burbank PD is standing by their claims, saying that after conducting a search, they found the alleged drugs and pipes inside the car, which is still being tested.
The police are confident in their investigation, though they have yet to release the body cam footage from the stop, citing the ongoing criminal case.
But Rodriguez Sr.'s attorney, Bobby Samini, is fighting back hard, calling the accusations “cowardly” and “irresponsible.”
He insists that no controlled substances were found on Rodriguez Sr. or in his possession, describing the entire encounter as a violation of civil rights.
Samini further emphasized the strength of his client’s background, highlighting that Paul Rodriguez Sr. is not just the father of a famous skater but also a retired U.S. Air Force veteran with a distinguished career.
Switch God's father was allegedly stripped of his dignity during the arrest, with his lawyer stating that he was treated as a dangerous criminal despite not having any drugs on him.
The family is standing firm, and they’re ready to take this case to court. The legal team believes that the actions of the police were designed to humiliate rather than protect, and they intend to clear Paul Rodriguez Sr.’s name.
While the pro skater has stayed relatively quiet about the specifics of the case, his family is united in defending his father against the charges.
The pro skater's dad has made it clear that he will not back down. The situation is evolving, and legal experts predict this could turn into a long, drawn-out case if it goes to trial.
