So Paul Rodriguez, the legend himself, just put it out there that Aimu Yamazuki is officially rolling with the Primitive Skate crew and it makes total sense.
P-Rod was scrolling through Instagram one day and caught a clip of Aimu on the Explore page. It was just a short line, kicking off with a flatground kickflip, but man, he knew right away he was seeing something different.
The 40-year-old said it was one of the craziest flatground kickflips he had ever seen and that one clip pulled him straight down the rabbit hole of Aimu’s videos. Every trick, every clip had P-Rod hooked.
What got him was how Aimu skates. He’s got that pop, that control, and moves that look smooth without even trying. But at the same time, he keeps this calm hands down, collected way on the board, like he’s just chilling and the board is part of him.
It’s the kind of skating that makes you stop what you’re doing and just watch. Switch God said it was beautiful to see someone so dialed in with that mix of style and skill.
Primitive Skateboarding has always been about respecting what came before, repping what’s real now, and helping shape what’s next.
P-Rod's role has always been to lift up skaters who are about to flip the scene in new directions. Once he met Aimu and skated with him, he knew for sure that this kid was about to be a big part of how skateboarding grows.
He’s got the skills, the mindset, and the style that make him fit perfectly with the team.
The Primitive head honcho wrapped it up by saying he’s proud to officially welcome Aimu Yamazuki to the Primitive Skate family. For everyone who follows skating, this is a move that matters.
If you’ve been watching his clips, you know the hype is real. Now we get to see him do his thing with the full support of one of the most legendary crews out there.
