Real Skateboards pro skateboarder Nicole Hause recently opened up about a facet of her identity that might surprise some – her embrace of the emo skate life.
During a candid conversation in the latest VS Thrasher magazine segment, Hause and Nora Vasconcellos they reminisced about their first impressions of each other.
Vasconcellos revealed that she initially thought Hause was a goth girl. The assumption was based on Hause's tendency to sport an all-black wardrobe during skate contests.
Contrary to the assumption, Hause clarified that she identifies more with the emo subculture than goth.
Drawing a parallel to the emo movement of the early 2000s, epitomized by bands like My Chemical Romance, Hause connected to that era's emotional and expressive elements.
Hause discloses what she considers the most emo aspect of her persona – her ever-changing hair color.
Hause also has a black-painted nail. This small detail further emphasizes her dedication to embracing the emo life on and off the skateboard.
