Who needs a skatepark when you have the International Space Station?
NASA astronaut Jessica Meir recently brought a little skateboarding fun to orbit, showing off her fingerboarding skills in a video shared on X.
The clip features Meir using a Tech Deck to nail some gnarly tricks across the International Space Station.
It's an unusual setup, but the station seems to offer plenty of places to practice.
Meir captioned the video "Space skate!" and dedicated it to the skaters in her family, including her brother, husband and daughter, whom she affectionately called a "little ripper."
She also tagged skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, asking what trick he would attempt if he had the chance to skate in orbit.
The astronaut has since returned to Earth after commanding NASA's SpaceX Crew-12 mission.
Her crew spent 235 days aboard the ISS before landing in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California. During their stay, the team also completed four spacewalks.
This was Meir's second extended stay in orbit. Her first lasted 205 days between 2019 and 2020.
After spending hundreds of days working in space, she managed to find time for a little fingerboarding fun along the way.

"Space skate! A tribute to the raddest skaters I know down on planet Earth. This one is for my brother (and all skating members of the posse), my husband and our little ripper daughter, and all the inspired shredders. Hey
, what trick would you try up here?"
