As we previously reported, MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk was shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University. The governor called it a political assassination from a rooftop. The news hit hard and left a lot of people in shock.
The former pro skateboarder and advocate Mikey Taylor took to social media to talk about his friend and how much this loss hurt him. The post showed the kind of grief you feel when someone you really care about is taken too soon.
Taylor said it straight, "I’m grieved by this... Charlie was my friend, a husband, a father. His life was just getting started, and to see it taken because someone disagreed with him… it’s unfathomable." Those words hit hard and showed a side of Kirk most people never got to see. He wasn’t just a public figure, he was a real person, surrounded by people who loved him.
He talked about the things he respected in Kirk, how he never backed down and always spoke his mind, even when it was tough. "What I always admired about Charlie was his courage. He said what he believed, even when it was hard to hear. And over the last couple years, I saw something shift in him. He spoke with more wisdom and compassion, especially to the younger generation. That was so clearly the Lord working in him."
Taylor and Kirk first met in 2019, and from there they built a friendship that went beyond the cameras and headlines. "This was the first time we met in 2019. I’m going to miss you, Charlie," Taylor wrote. His words showed just how close they had gotten over the years.
Fans and friends quickly chimed in, sharing memories and showing love for both Taylor and Kirk. It was clear that Kirk left a mark on the people around him. He wasn’t just about politics or public life, he was about connecting with people and being there for family, friends, and the next generation.
Taylor’s post reminded everyone that behind every public persona, there is a human story. Grief, love, friendship, and respect are real and raw, and his tribute gave everyone a chance to see the heart of Charlie Kirk.
