Legendary heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson is reportedly taking legal action against Supreme after the brand changed an Israeli flag to a Palestinian flag on a hoodie inspired by his boxing legacy.
The piece was part of a collaboration with designer Martine Rose but was pulled from sale after the change drew attention online.
According to reports, Tyson has reportedly backed out on the collaboration and his legal team says the original artwork had been approved to celebrate his career.
They accuse Supreme of changing the design without permission and breaching their agreement.
“Without authorization, Supreme altered the approved design, embroiling Mr. Tyson in an unrelated political crisis. This modification constitutes a material breach of contract. With Supreme ignoring repeated demands, Mr. Tyson’s legal counsel will take all necessary action to protect his name, likeness, and legacy.”
The dispute comes after Tyson faced criticism in 2023 over his attendance at an Israeli military fundraising event in Florida.
He later said he was unaware it was a fundraiser and denied making any donations.
