Atlanta skating just leveled up. Skate ATL brought in Tony Hawk's Skatepark Hero Mike Manion, and the city knows what's up!

Mike has been a skate rat. Since then he has been everywhere, skating parks and streets across North America, linking with heavy hitters, and always coming back home to Georgia. Atlanta has seen him around for years, throwing down at sessions and putting in work to keep the scene alive.

He is not just a contest guy. Mike is the type who puts people together. When the city needed a real Go Skateboarding Day, he was one of the names behind the biggest one Atlanta ever saw. That shows you where his heart is. It is not only about him landing tricks, it is about everyone riding together.

Mike joining Skate ATL feels like the right move for the academy and for Atlanta.

It locks the next generation into real knowledge and keeps the local scene strong. Anyone stepping on a board with him is going to walk away sharper, tougher, and more confident.

Skate ATL Posted:

"Please join us in welcoming Mike Manion to the team. Mike, also known as (Tony Hawk Skatepark Hero), has been skateboarding for 25 years. Originally from McDonough, Ga, Mike has traveled all over North America and skated with the best of the best (including Tony Hawk). He started skateboarding when he was 10 years old and started teaching at the age of 15. Mike has always been heavily connected in the skateboarding community, especially here in Atlanta. He recently hosted one of the biggest Go Skateboarding Day events in ATL history.

Mike also toured with Untitled Skateboards. He now resides in Georgia, where he is raising his two kids, working, and spending quality time with his family. Mike still actively competes from time to time but says he’s more focused on helping others. And he's off to an amazing start.

Check the last review we received:

"Mike is the bomb. Yea, I said it. I am a 40 year old lady and I tried to teach myself in 2014 - that's 11 years ago. I fell and my board went flying into the street. I didnt get back on until last year and after watching YouTube and practicing my own trying to stand up. I surrendered and contacted SkateATL.

They set me up with Mike and you don't even know how much my first impression of him, to just learning how to get on the board, to practicing what I wanted to learn over and over. His flexibility and to be able to cater to my style of learning.... he was always there so I never felt unsafe. He was there to build up my confidence to try and try again.

I can confidently say that I learned so much in 1 hour with Mike than I tried to learn on my own in over 10 years.

I can even fall on my ass and let the board go into the street. Cause if that should ever happen again. I know Mike will be there and Im gonna get back on the board easy - Mike taught me that.

Thanks, Mike"
