Sunday, April 20th, The Crown will be hosting an unforgettable night of metal, with Whine, the band led by professional skateboarder Marie Decourcy and Dylan Clevenger, taking the stage to perform the entirety of Dopesmoker by Sleep.
It’s a show that promises to be as heavy as it is meaningful, with all proceeds going to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), an organization dedicated to providing medical care to children in the Middle East.
In the announcement shared by Decourcy herself on social media, she noted that something "blasphemous" lurks in the wake of Easter Sunday. With Whine joined by local artist Gaia WXYZ on bass, the show will certainly be one for the books, offering a deep dive into stoner metal’s iconic, 63-minute anthem. As a nod to the unrelenting, doom-laden atmosphere of Dopesmoker, the event promises to be a truly intense experience for fans.
Before Whine unleashes their sonic assault, Joshua will open the evening with a set of solo classical guitar, setting a reflective tone before the heavy riffing begins. This eclectic blend of genres is bound to draw a crowd, with a sense of anticipation building for the main event. Whine playing Dopesmoker in full.
The show isn’t just about good music, though. Every dollar raised will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, a cause that’s close to the hearts of the artists involved. The PCRF is known for its dedication to offering critical medical care to children in Palestine and the surrounding regions, and the funds from this event will help further that mission.
Doors open at 7 PM, with the show starting at 8 PM. Tickets are priced at $20, available through the Square store link in the bio, and sliding scale options will be available at the door for those in need. It’s a chance to enjoy an incredible show while also contributing to a cause that has the power to make a difference.
